Srilankan Yellow Sapphire (Ceyloni Pukhraj)

Sapphires are found all around the world, but the Ceylon Yellow Sapphire stands out as one of the finest. A gemstone of prosperity and wisdom, yellow sapphire (Pukhraj stone) needs no introduction in the world of Vedic astrology and planetary gems. The Sri Lankan variety is highly valued in the gemstone industry because of its unmatched quality and superior efficacy.

What is Sri Lankan Yellow Sapphire (Ceylon Pukhraj Stone)?

As it is pretty evident from the name itself, Sri Lankan Yellow Sapphire is a premium variety of the well-known Jupiter stone (Pukhraj), specifically sourced from Sri Lanka. Given that Sri Lanka was once known as Ceylon during the British colonial period, this gemstone is also commonly referred to as Ceylon Yellow Sapphire or Ceylon Pukhraj.
What makes the Sri Lankan Yellow Sapphire so special? It's not just its radiant color, which ranges from a soft cornsilk yellow to delicate amber tones, but also its ability to bring about real transformation. If you want to experience the real transformative benefits of a yellow sapphire in a relatively short time, its Ceylon variant is highly suggested.

How to wear Ceylon Yellow Sapphire (Srilankan Pukhraj)?

In astrology, the metal, finger, and weight of a gemstone are vital for its effectiveness. Also, there is a particular day assigned for each Navratna to be worn. Here is what you need to know when wearing a yellow sapphire:

Factors Affecting Price & Quality

The price and quality of a Srilankan Pukhraj depend on several factors that work together to determine its value. Here’s how each factor plays a role:

• Color: An ideal Sri Lankan yellow sapphire showcases a soft yellow hue, often resembling cornsilk or butter yellow, with subtle inclusions that add to its unique character. This differentiates it from the Thai variant (Bangkok Pukhraj), which tends to have deeper, warmer yellow shades.
• Clarity: High-quality Sri Lankan yellow sapphires should have almost negligible inclusions, which are nothing but natural imperfections. The fewer the inclusions, the more valuable the stone, with the best stones showing no visible inclusions to the naked eye.
• Cut: An intricate cut enhances the sparkle and visual appeal of a Pukhraj, while a poorly executed cut can make even the finest color and clarity seem lackluster. The more detailed the cut, the more valuable the gemstone becomes.
• Carat: While larger stones are typically rarer and pricier, their value also hinges on other factors like colour and clarity. For instance, a one-carat stone may be more expensive than a two-carat stone of comparable quality.
• Origin: The origin plays a big role in deciding the pricing of a gemstone. Sri Lankan Pukhraj is considered the epitome of quality and is much rarer than its Thailand variant. Though a Bangkok yellow sapphire is known to offer similar astrological benefits at a much more affordable price point, nothing beats the efficacy and quality of a Srilankan Pukhraj.
• Treatment: As a rule of thumb, untreated stones are rarer and more valuable. Unlike its Thai counterpart, a genuine Srilankan yellow sapphire is never heat-treated, which adds to its market value and astrological prowess.

These factors collectively determine the cost and quality of a Srilankan Pukhraj stone. To get the best value, it's always wise to purchase from trusted sellers like Pramogh, who can help you select the right gemstone based on your needs and budget.

Sri Lankan Yellow Sapphire Pricing

An original Ceylon yellow sapphire price in India typically ranges from INR 1,000 to INR 100,000 per carat and can sometimes exceed this range. Key factors such as origin, colour, clarity, and carat weight significantly influence the price of the stone. Therefore, it's important to consider all these factors together to determine if your stone is valued reasonably.

Buying Guidelines

In today’s world, selling counterfeit goods and online scams is rampant. This makes purchasing gemstones, especially something as valuable as a Ceylon Pukhraj, a task that requires extra attention. After all, these stones are not merely another purchase—they are an investment in your well-being. Whether you purchase a Sri Lankan Pukhraj in person or online, consider these important pointers:

• Ask for Certification: To be confident your Pukhraj is authentic, always ask your store for a certification from a reputed gem lab, like IDT Laboratories. Still, it's not sufficient to rely only on the certificate; also, confirm the lab's reputation.
• Examine for Natural Inclusions: Natural gemstones often have subtle imperfections, or inclusions, formed during their creation. These inclusions are a sign of authenticity. Even high-quality Ceylon Yellow Sapphires may show slight feather-like inclusions. A stone that’s perfectly flawless or 100% transparent could be a synthetic or misrepresented gem.
• Avoid Bargains That Sound Too Good: Sri Lankan yellow sapphires are rare and prized for their unique qualities, which naturally makes them expensive. If a Sri Lankan Pukhraj price appears excessively low, it probably isn't genuine. Extremely low prices often give indication of a piece that’s either fake or of inferior quality, so be wary of deals that sound overly enticing.
• Understand the Return Policy: Always check the return policy before making a purchase. You should feel comfortable knowing that if the gemstone doesn’t meet your expectations, you can return it. For our customer's peace of mind, we happily offer a 10-day money-back guarantee at Pramogh, ensuring that your investment is protected.

By keeping these tips in mind, you can confidently invest in a genuine Sri Lankan yellow sapphire, one that not only enhances your life with its beauty but also empowers you with its true astrological benefits.
